The weather in NYC is BEYOND out of control. I am really confused as to what is going on. Winter is not even close to being over and the weather has been horrible on a daily basis ☹.
I cannot explain how much of a non-winter girl I am. Rain boots, snow boots, puffy jackets, hats/scarves/gloves and ponytail hair days are just NOT my thing. I really need mother nature to get it together. It's bad enough that the winter season brings cold weather, but AWFUL weather on a daily basis has me feeling like I live in Alaska and I know that I purposely do not live in a place like that for this very reason.
SMDH!
Moving right along...
Anyone that knows me, knows how important jewlery is to me. I am an accessories whore full time and LOVE IT! I do not feature enough rings on my weekly fierce finds so today I decided this week we should "put a ring on it" as Beyonce says.
Its early Monday morning and I just got home from my temp gig not too long ago. Sigh I know I know the life of an up and coming stylist is a rough one lol. Gotta pay the bills somehow.
Anywayz, being at my temp gig puts me in Soho damn near everyday and today while I was listening to Alicia Keys 2nd album it made me go down memory lane. Out of all the neighborhoods in New York City, Soho is definitely one of my favorites.
I remember the first time I discovered Soho on a class trip when I was in high school. All I could think of was how alive and trendy it was from the restaurants to the one of a kind boutiques. I loved it all. Since then I have become a regular in Soho. Its one of the perfect places for me to shop for my clients and for shoots among other things.
Now something that Soho has that I love is jewelry. Tons of quaint little jewelry spots from street vendors to boutiques. My favorite spot is called So Good Jewelry. They have two locations down in Soho. It seriously is a one stop shop. They have all kinds of treasures for reasonable prices that brighten up my day. I discovered it on one of my many trips to Soho a few years back and they never disappoint.
This week is accessories week in New York City and the trade show will be featured at the Jacob Javits Center. The only downside to that is the show is not open to the public, but its a good thing to know for future reference and for those of you that like to know the ins and outs of everything especially fashion related then please keep yourself updated on the trade show calendar. Its a new year so a lot of new shows are coming our way.
With that being said in honor of accessory week and all our jewelry talk...

~Fierce Find~
Happy Monday luv's,
So last week was a crazy week for me. I had my internship, worked on casting for some of my own shoots and I had the special treat of helping out at Corbin Bleu's premiere for his new movie "Free Style" were I mixed and mingled with a few people. All in all not a shabby wk.
Rayna and I
Justin and I
So for a quick recap to what this fashionista has been working on in no special order: some test shoots (two particular looks I am trying to get off the ground, assisting one of my cousin's who is starting his own clothing line with his fashion show this week, helping another designer put together some looks for her look book, attending my internship ofcourse, working (yes this diva has acquired a side gig lol), and last but not least I have been doing some more writing and contributing. Busy life I tell ya. All in a days work I suppose.
Soon I'll do a more detailed blog on updates on my personal life. Haven't done that in a while.
Jewelry, Jewelry, Jewelry. I LOVEEEE JEWELRY. Especially costume jewelry. I am a costume jewelry whore. Yes I said it. I am. I don't know about yall, but a gal can NEVER have too much jewelry. Forever21 is a GREAT place to find jewelry pieces your fashion heart desires at a great price. This beautiful cocktail necklace featured today is perfect for day and night or day into night hehe. At $9.80 it is a MUST HAVE. It is the perfect way to dress a simple outfit up. Personally, I'd go online to order this because its a better gurantee than going into the store. For this steal they may not be on the shelves long.

Simple & Chic...(bling factor?)
Hello ppl
So as I was getting dressed this morning on my way to do some interview related matters I had a difficult time deciding on the perfect necklace to compliment my interview ready outfit. See I was going for extremely simple ya know a pencil skirt and a top kind of look, but (as we all know from a past post) accessories are key.
I had two options: do I go for a lot all at once to bring out the simple outfit or go for a little?
That definitely got me thinking about what exactly is simple? And how do I pick one of my options?
So the way I fixed my minor accessory dilemna was focusing on the bag of choice for the day.
The purse I decided on has a chain handle which, in my opinion, is already jewelry. Therefore; adding a necklace that was doing a lot might not be a good idea especially since I was going to wear the purse across my shoulders instead of on it. I opted for the simple necklace so I was not doing too much or too little because I have enough of the bling factor going on :-).
With that being said I started to think about the difference between simple and chic and not simple enough. When being tooooo simple that can almost make you invisible. Who really wants to be invisible ya know? However; adding a simple piece of jewelry as an accessory whether its on a bag, shoes or in your hair can provide a simple and chic bling.
Ofcourse don't over due it. rme. When you overdue the bling factor you end up looking a Hot Azz Mess and you ruin the outfit. That's definitely a no bueno but as we all know some ppl take the bling factor to the NEXT level. So all we can do is pray ::bows head::
