Celebrity Closets I Adore
Last night, while chit chatting with one of my favorite people the topic of closets came up. I recently gave my bedroom a much needed face lift and expanded my closets in the process. I'm not going to lie, my new closets are actually very nice and they definitely serve their purpose for the time being.
However, my friend and I could not help but gush over the fact that our future dream wardrobe space will practically have its own zip code because what fashionable girl doesn't want her closet to be registered with its own zip code?!?!
BUT...
Until then I'd settle for a converted bedroom space. As you can see when it comes to closets I jump into the ONLY "Carrie Bradshaw" mentality. I could truly go on and on about what my dream wardrobe space would look like, but that would take all day. I am very detailed ;-).
Moving along...
With wonderful closets and fabulous clothes on our minds my friend and I picked five celebrities that we would just LOVE to go shopping in their closets.
~ CELEBRITY CLOSETS I ADORE ~
1) Rihanna - is the epitome of Glam Rock Couture at its finest. We all know and love us some Ri Ri, but she really is an iconic fashion figure in today's fashion world. Can you imagine shopping in Ri Ri's closet? Filled with Balmain, Alexander McQueen, Giuseppe Zanotti (just to name a few) and tons of edgy unknown British designers? Leaving would totally NOT be an option for me.
2) Beyonce - is an expensively chic southern bell (in my opinion). She oozes sophistication and chicness. There is a sensuality about her that is noticeable in the pieces she wears. Granted, I for one am not always satisfied with the "fits" Mrs. B wears, but her sense of style works for her (for the most part). Now can you imagine what her closet looks like? Vintage Chanel is definitely involved. I just love me some Chanel.
 3) Kim Kardashian - now Ms. Kim K gives us sexy glam with an air of sophistication on a daily basis. She is truly Hollywood's "IT" fashion socialite and with good reasoning. She is a total advocate for one of my favorite designers Herve Leger. At any given event she can be found in one of his famous bandage dresses which she looks amazing in btw. Kim's style is very sexy. Lots of draping and asymmetrical lines in her pieces. If I had the opportunity to raid Kim K's closet, aside from Herve Leger I would be able to rack up on just about any designer because her wardrobe is full of everyone. Wouldn't that be a treat?
 4) Rachel Zoe - Without a doubt I would love to go shopping in Mrs. Zoe's closet. We all know the Boho Couture stylist is one of the most reputable fashion icons in our wonderful fashion world today. She has definitely come along way and so has her closet. Lots of vintage EVERYTHING from jewelry to jeans. Erin Fetherston, Givenchy and Chanel (vintage ofcourse) can be found in her closet. Let's not forget her love of fur. Her closet is definitely something to marvel over.
Last, but certainly not least...
5) Victoria Beckham - the queen of London Luxe Chicness. I feel that is the perfect phrase for her. Never one to be seen stepping out in anything less than a pair of five inch heels, Mrs. Beckham's style is truly on another level. Along with her London Chic appeal she throws in haute couture as an accessory. Lots of fabulous pencil dresses, Birkin bags and fantastic pumps can certainly be found in her closet. I still would not even know where to begin if I were standing in the middle of her closet with a checklist.
These ladies closets are not to be messed with, but these are just five of many. Gwen Stefani's closet would also be another pick for me because as a whole I love her style.
Also, let's not forget about dear old Mariah Carey's shoe collection.
I am not a fan of her style, but her shoes are something to die over.

Weekly Fierce Find
Kenneth Cole is a really good brand. There pieces are chic and modern, but still have a timeless look and feel to them. I simply live for their shoes. They have the cutest pieces. Now personally I do not shop there often because I feel it can be a hit or miss with my taste, but when I do find something I like. I reallllllly like it.

I really dig the steel color these come in. Sometimes I can be on the fence with the whole gladiator look especially on me, but these accomplish that in a sexy chic way which I really like. These are perfect for spring/summer especially when done with simple looks. This shoe piece can add a flare of sophistication.

Clean Room: OUT w/ the old & IN w/ the new
Hi my luvs,
So earlier on my journey home as I listened to A. Keys on shuffle and stared out the window on the train I had a random thought about some shoes I recently got. I was wondering when they would have their moment in the spotlight and what I would wear with them. That thought triggered a mental screen shot of my closet and all the shoes I have that I have yet to wear or have only worn once or twice. Don't get me wrong I am the first one to purchase a pair of shoes no questions asked, but as I mentally went through my closet I realized its a new year, new day and I need a new start. I hateeeee letting go of my things. I'm convinced I can always utilize them at some point in time. It's like that episode of Sex and the City when Aden moves in and Carrie needs to get rid of half her closet lol. That's how I feel, but its not necessarily a bad thing. If I get rid of stuff I do not need, want or wear anymore then I can make space for the new luxuries to come this year. At least that's the plan hehe.
I really wonder why is it hard for us, people emotionally attached to our "things", to get rid of them? Afterall, they are just material things and can be replaced one way or another, but we hold on so tight to them. I am not sure about yall, but I take my clothes/shoes/bags VERY seriously. Letting someone borrow a pair of shoes is almost a no no depending on who they are and where they are going. It's like signing out an organ with me lol. Iunno. I had this great epiphany today that my attitude the past few weeks has been negative for lost of different reasons. The life of an up and coming fashionista can be a scary one. Lots of disappointments. It's really a 24/7 grind that you have to keep at in order to get any kind of results, but it does not make it an easy grind. As we all know nothing worth fighting for has EVER been easy, but our attitudes definitely impact our lives on a daily basis. So I figured later today I am cleaning room: out w/ the old & in w/ the new. Ofcourse it will be extremely hard, but its necessary I feel. Whatever I get rid of I am going to donate, some to the Haiti relief fund and probably give away the rest. New year, New day, New closet. Wish me luck :-).

Ms. Simpson....The New Deal

Now yall know I am random as ever, probably as random as it gets.
With that being said last night on my way home from hanging with some homegirls I walked by Macy's newest display and lo and behold who was being showcased?
::DRUM ROLL::
Ms. Jessica Simpson.
Now I know yall are probably like " oh that's it?" But honestly I was a bit surprised and ecstatic for her. First of all not EVERYONE can get a front display at Macy's and let's be real, of all people, Jessica Simpson?       As we all know she has come a long way in her venture as a designer. Starting with shoes and handbags and evolving into a designer with multi categories. I think she deserves an applause. Not for becoming a designer, but for becoming a designer that actually has wearable and affordable pieces to say the least.
I'm not a personal fan of Ms. Simpson, but I do have a pair of her shoes and I heart them. Not only are they affordable, but they are comfortable which I really like and they are also ultra chic. As females its REALLY hard for us to find a comfortable pair of heels because, let's face it, heels just ARE NOT comfortable; however, I find with Ms. Simpson's shoes they are fairly decent where I am not automatically dying when I put them on. How many of us can say that? And let the shoe be affordable? That's like finding a Jimmy Choo in a Target pile.
If you have not given any of Ms. Simpson's pieces a try then you really need to get on your grind. If you want afforable, trendy and fairly comfortable things she is definitely the way to go. The Diva Wears....
What is going on ppl?
So I was out the loop for 2.3, but I got to thinking tonight and the inspiration came along.
I was thinking about this photographer that hit me up today wanting to do a *tf* with me and I have the choice of picking the concept. When he told me that my first reaction was “awww he’s about to make me get creative with this type of freedom” then it started. SHOES, Shoes and more shoes. These insatiable things can change moods from sad to happy in the blink of an eye. When I looked at my collection it hit me that I could do some dope shoots with a few of them. All these ideas started coming together and this new photographer is definitely somebody I would like to work with. I feel his vision reflects mine and what we could potentially accomplish. So I'm sitting here thinking about my collection and my theory on shopping came to mind: random acts of buying can lead to the completed piece of a good ‘fit. Shoes can be the root of maxing out a C.C. That does not pertain to me ofcourse :-/ Anyway, not feeding your way into these pairs of addiction can lead to a broken heart, moping for days and/or extreme rationalizing of why you didn’t get it, why you couldn’t get it or both. However, when you FALL for them its seriously like love at first sight. Literally. With that being said I felt the need to share a few of mine...
A black and white checkered 4 in. pump with a one band buckle is sophistication at a budget. Simple, chic with some trend can go a long way.  Tan and white T strap Mary Jane inspired 3 ½ in. will turn some heads. These deliciously classy stilettos will compliment a timeless ‘fit.  And… Let’s not forget the mysterious fabulousity of the satin. These scream sexy, sensual and in charge. A gorgeous dress would make this red carpet acceptable.
SHOES, shoes and more shoes. Sigh...living without them IS certainly not an option.

Thoughts about credit....
So another day, another post.
The shoot I am working on now went from retro glam to high glam in a matter of a few days. Is that the way I wanted it to go. Not Particularly, but what can you do. Not that I didn't think it was a good direction, but I had pieces from a previous shoot that did not go through. So I was already prepared. High glam I was not. So now I have to re-do the direction which requires more money. As we all know, up and coming creatives almost guarantee's that we put more out than we get back in the beginning. Sucks, but what can we do. However, since I am not a money train it takes a little bit longer to put the looks together.
Which leads me to my Credit Card. My credit card is like the answer all the time. It works for shoots and stuff, but I do not always do returns and whatnot. Therefore, it just accumulates. Coach is having a huge sale on rain boots and all I can think is "Damn how am I going to get me some of those boots" I'm thinking of several ways and its like this could all be solved if my credit card wasn't damn near at the end of its road. Then I want to get a pair for my little sister and its like damn. So it got me thinking how important and necessary our CC's are to us. We depend on it. I never knew how much until now. In my mind I saw Coach + CC = ?!?!
Sad and scary thought.
Now I have to do what I do best, try and make it work. Figure it out. I like challenges, but this one has the potential to go two different ways: Sketchy, Sophisticated or both.
